Upper School Division Coordinator (Sharon Shaver)

The Wednesday Late Start Initiative was complete for this year on February 21.Students, parents, and staff members now have the opportunity to share their opinions concerning the future of this initiative through a survey.

The Upper School Parent Forum was held on Tuesday, March 6.It was well attended with a productive and interesting discussion on social media, adolescent isolation and parent response led byMichael Blanche and Caroline Fenkel.

For questions concerning the 2018 AP testing, please visit the Upper School Resource Board on AIS-On.

A few parents have not received the latest administrative emails.Please contact the administration, for questions or concerns.

Middle School Spring sports have begun. Sports being offered are softball, lacrosse, squash and fitness

Community Events

  • Parent Teacher conferences are March 15 from 4-6 and March 16
  • There are no classes for students on March 16. For the first time, we are pleased to offer all day care for Agnes Irwin students and their PK-4th grade siblings if registered ahead of time. Keep an eye out for details and registration information.

Community Update

  • A letter will be sent home in the next week updating parents on the community initiatives of the Lower School this year. Feedback from parents and facilitators of the affinity groups has been very positive, and students are going to be surveyed as well. Three more groups will be introduced in Parents with questions can call Mrs. Lindner or Dr. Charesse Ford for more information.
  • Progress reports are in the process of being written and will be reviewed and edited next week. The goal is to have them available to parents no later than Monday, March 12. This is a few days later than normal, due to Mrs. Lindner’s attendance at the National Association of Independent Schools’ conference next week.

  • Information was sent out regarding sponsorship -those interested in sponsoring the event can d so via link on AIS-ON
  • Ticket information will be distributed shortly - if you are planning to attend, please buy your tickets early as the event does sell out!

May Fair

  • Committees and Booth Chairs are set
  • Currently gathering pre-sale items
  • Looking into valet parking this year (more convenient AND less expensive than the shuttle) - more information to follow

Spring Market (May 9/10)

Course selection recommendations for next year have been shared with students.The recommendations are based on a student’s current class performance and are intentionally conservative.Parents will receive a letter detailing the course selection process.

All day shopping May 10 (open to the public)

  • Lunch available for purchase
  • May 10 is also Lower School Grandfriends’ Day - GF Day shuttle will stop at 672 so that grandfriends and girls can shop

PC Nominations have closed

Slate will be posted online and voted on at the final PC meeting of the year

Next PC Meeting is April 13 at 8:15am
