AIS 5th Grade Families,

Welcome to the 2019-20 school year!  This is a big year for our girls as they move to the Middle School. It is also the 150th anniversary of the Agnes Irwin School, which adds to the excitement!

We are your 5th-grade class parents for the year and hope to keep you well informed. If you ever have any questions or need clarification on 5th-grade AIS happenings, please be sure to reach out to either of us and we will do our best to help.

We both have a couple of years experience with AIS middle school under our belts, and are looking forward to welcoming our own 5th-graders to the middle school as well! Our Class of 2027 daughters,Sarah and Colette, are excited to get back in the classroom with all of their friends, both old and new!

As the year goes on, you can look for news and updates from us at the start of each month, with the exception of grade-specific events that might require more communication.

Middle School Uniforms and Other Information

A link to the Middle School Handbook which covers uniforms and other critical information is provided below.

AIS Middle School Handbook Link

Students are required to carry the blue AIS school backpack (available in the school store) as a part of their uniform. Please make sure to pick yours up soonin the school store! Some families choose toembroider initials on the front of the backpack, but this is by no means necessary. However, we would like to suggestthat your daughter have some sort of identifying marker on her backpack so she can easily pick it out from the crowd.A colored ribbon or special keychain would also do the trick.

In addition, girls are encouraged to have a pencil case equipped with pencils, pens, erasers, highlighters, glue stick, etc.

Click on the school supply link below to see what else is needed.

While we will do our best to keep you up-to-date, the best first step is to check the Middle School Resources section of AIS-On and the All-School Newletters each week.
