Virtual Wine tasting with Jen Bowers

Join Jen as she discusses wine to serve with your Thanksgiving dinner. She will share with you her knowledge of wine, food to pair with the selected bottles of wine and so much more.  Jen personally recommends and will be discussing the following five bottles for your fall celebrations:

If you are interested in participating in this virtual event please register using the registration button above. If convenient, participants have the option of reserving one, two, three, four or all five bottles of wine for the tasting.  If you choose to reserve wine, all orders must be placed online by October 27th . Wine can be picked up at 672 Conestoga Road on Wednesday, October 28th and Thursday, October 29th between 8:10 am and 4:00 pm. You do not need to reserve wine to participate.

Jen Bowers, an Agnes Irwin Parent, grew up in Columbus, Ohio. Not necessarily the hotbed of wine! But, many characteristics of her upbringing led her to this area of interest and study. Wine was served with dinner. The family meal was sacred. Living in San Francisco after college served to further steep her in the synergy of food and wine. Jen spent over 15 years in the wine business in a variety of capacities. She has traveled to wine producing areas in Italy and France, where she was struck with the simplicity of pairing local food with local wine.  She ultimately co-owned Legends Wine Marketing, focusing on sales and branding of small, independent California wineries. During this time, she had two mentors who taught her to taste a grape off the vine; to taste a wine fermenting in the barrel; to understand the evolution of a wine. Upon moving to Philadelphia, Jen was so pleasantly surprised by the dynamic food and wine scene. She is passionate about demystifying wine. And believes it is one of life’s simple pleasures, to be enjoyed with friends and family. Jen is excited to share her wine knowledge with the Agnes Irwin Community.
