Good morning Pre-K Parents!
 
My name is Joanna Stott, and I am very excited to introduce myself as the Class Parent for our girls Pre-K class! I am the mother of Charlotte Stott, and have a long-standing connection to Agnes Irwin. I am an alumna, a graduate of the Class of 2003, a member of our Development office, and also the Upper School Varsity Cross Country Coach! I look forward to getting to know all of you and your beautiful girls, and hope that I can be helpful in making this exciting new chapter for your family a happy one. 
 
This email is a bit long, so please bear with me as I try to knock through it all!
 
Communications:
  • Please reply to let me know that this is the best email address at which I can reach you. Per school policy, I need at least one parent to receive my emails. If one parent would like to opt out, please let me know!
  • AIS-ON: Please log-in to your account to make sure you are registered to receive school notifications, including those specific to the Lower School. To register, once you are logged-in, go to your name in the top right, click account settings, and then notifications. I would also recommend taking a few minutes to poke around on AIS-ON as it is a wonderful resource for all school-related items (everything from All School Announcements, tothe Pre-K Online Class Directory, to Mr. & Mrs. Seaton’s Class Page, and Parents’ Council Updates, to name a few), and something that you will need to refer to often in the year ahead!

Important Dates for September: I know this may read as a bit overwhelming! September is always a busy month, and this year is especially so because of the celebration of Agnes Irwin's 150th Anniversary. Please attend and participate as your schedule allows! 
  • Tuesday, September 3rd: Classroom Visits 1:30-2:30 p.m. for children and parents - No uniforms! The girls will have some time in the classroom and on the playground, and you will receive information about Pre-K and the Pre-K Handbook. Please let Kathy Seaton know if you are not able to come that day - her email is kseaton@agnesirwin.org. 
  • Wednesday, September 4th: First Day of School! Half Day Dismissal at 11:50 a.m.
  • Thursday, September 5th: Half Day Dismissal at 11:50 a.m.
  • Friday, September 6th: Half Day Dismissal at 11:50 a.m.
  • Thursday, September 5th, 6:30-7:45pm @ 672 Conestoga Road: New Parents’ Reception, hosted by the Admission Office
  • Tuesday, September 10th, 8:15am @ 672 Conestoga Road: Lower School Informational Coffee, hosted by Parents’ Council
  • Tuesday, September 17th: Lower School Picture Day
  • Thursday, September 19th, 7:00-8:30 p.m. @ the Lower School: Lower School Parents’ Night - Parents only event! Sign-ups for volunteers will be available in the classroom. It would be wonderful if everyone could sign-up for at least one event and to make play dough for one or more months (the recipe is on the Seaton's class page!)
  • Friday, September 20th, 5:00-7:00 p.m. @ Irwin's: Founder's Day Festival - First official event celebrating Agnes Irwin's 150th Anniversary. The kickoff will feature a family barbecue and a special performance of Agnes Irwin: The Musical
  • Saturday, September 21st, 9:00-2:00 p.m. @ Irwin's: Ready, Set, Go - A day celebrating 150 years of girls in action that will kickoff with a family friendly yoga session, and be followed by our Upper School fall sports teams competing for the blue and gold!
  • Sunday, September 22nd, 2:00-5:00 p.m. @ The Agnes Irwin School Gymnasium: Founder's Day Convocation - A ceremony marking 150 years to the day that our founder opened the doors to what would become The Agnes Irwin School. Students do not need to register; however, families of students must register. 
  • Friday, September 27th, 5:30 p.m. hosted by Joanna & Jon Stott - Pre-K Get-Together - Parents Only (please note that we are waiting on approval for this date from our Director of Parent Special Events; we should have confirmation by sometime next week)
  • Monday, September 30th: Rosh Hashanah - NO classes
Other Key Info:
  • Our Pre-K Back to School Picnic & Playdate will take place on Wednesday, August 28th from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Clem Macrone Park (810 Conestoga Road, Bryn Mawr), which is located just down the street from Irwin’s! Siblings are invited!
  • The RenAISsance store will open starting August 20th. Lucie Thumm’s mom, Allison Cocozza, is one of our RenAISsance volunteers this year, so be sure to introduce yourself to her! I have pasted the hours that RenAISsance will be open below. 
  • The PreK webpage is up and running! Please try to check it once or twice a week for information and pictures. Here is the link: https://sites.google.com/a/agnesirwin.org/pk/home

RenAISsance Dates 2019
The RenAISsance shop is located at 672 Conestoga Road and sells gently used uniforms and Agnes Irwin gear.
