Parents' Council 2021-2022 Information

The Agnes Irwin School Parents’ Council

All parents and guardians are automatically members of our Parents’ Council. We are a group of volunteers dedicated to fostering positive school spirit and supporting The Agnes Irwin School through fundraising activities and a variety of social events. We invite all of you to join in the many volunteer opportunities, large and small, to help, serve or provide support for the faculty, the community and our daughters.

We organize and host a variety of events throughout the year. You are invited to sign up to help organize, run or plan any of these events and more!  Please check the Parents’ Council tab on AIS-ON for information regarding these events and to sign up to volunteer using our signup genius. All of the funds raised at these events go directly back to our girls.

Parents' Council is ably led by an 11-member Executive Committee, PCEC. The committee is a wonderful group of dedicated parents who serve the AIS community by overseeing our many fundraising events and grade-level activities. We on the Executive Committee are always available to you and look forward to meeting you. Please join us at our  Parents’ Council meetings. This year, our meetings will be held at 8:30 am at 672 Conestoga Road on October 14th,  November 11th,  February 10th, March 10th and April 14th.

Every year the parents of the Lower School students host a lunch for the faculty and staff to thank them for everything they do for our girls. This is a sit down affair in the O’Neill music room. We need volunteers to cook, watch the children during lunch and fill in for the receptionist and nurse.

US/MS Staff Appreciation: Thursday, February 9th

Every year the parents of the Middle and Upper School students host a luncheon for the faculty and staff to thank them for everything they do for our girls. This lunch is a sit down affair in the Alumnae Lobby with parents preparing and serving a delicious multi-course meal.

RaisE: April 22nd

RaisE is Parents’ Council’s largest fundraiser. This adult-only event typically includes dinner, entertainment and a live auction.

MayFair: Friday, May 20th

The day begins at 11:00 am with each grade in Lower School performing a dance around the Maypole. All Lower School Parents and Grandparents are encouraged to attend this Agnes Irwin tradition. Following these dances the girls change into free dress and enjoy a fair organized and run by the Parents' Council. The fair includes games, food, crafts, face painting and a photo booth.  Although this is a day for the Lower School girls the Middle and Upper School girls love to attend the fair during their lunch periods.  We have plenty of volunteer opportunities for parents who want to volunteer during the day as well for parents who can give us some of their time in the evenings or on weekends.
