Welcome to the 2019-20 school year!  This is a big Year for our girls as they are now members of the Upper School. We welcome the new and returning girls and hope they all enjoy upper school at  Agnes Irwin. 

We are hoping that you could take a moment to read this email and Reply ALL to us (Maria and Susan) so that we know you received it. If you have a preferred email address that you would like us to use for future communications or if you would like one of the parents emails to be removed from the list please let us know.  This is the email list we will use for the year.  Email will be our primary method of communication throughout the year and the most efficient way to keep you informed about both events specific to our class and school wide. Thank you for taking the time to respond to us both now. 

If you have not done so already, please log on to AIS-ON our internal communication system, and update personal information, sign up for alerts and complete any outstanding forms. Here you can find information on dining services, athletics and the health center, just to name a few.  Please  take the time to get familiar with this platform. It is a great resource for parents. There are a few dates to be aware of: 
September 3 - 9th grade orientation 9-12 
September 4 - first full day of classes for all students 
September 11 - Upper School coffee, 8:30 am at 672 Conestoga Rd. Additional Parent council (PC) meeting times at end of email 
September 12 - Upper School parents night 
September 16  9th grade overnight retreat to Pocono Valley.  More info to come 
September 19 - Upper School picture day 
September 20-22 founders day weekend celebrating 150 years 
September 30 no classes October 9 no classes 
October 17 and 18. Teacher conferences. 

Parent Council meetings and events are a great way to get involved at AIS. The first meeting will be on September 11 at 672 Conestoga Rd, 8:15 AM. Would love to see you there for coffee and information specifically about the Upper School. 

Lastly, if there are any volunteers that would like to host a class cocktail party/social event for the fall please let us know and we would love to have a discussion with you about this.
